This quilt was so much fun to make and I wanted to take a minute to post some more photos of my version. Most of the fabrics are from Cotton + Steel's new Panorama collection and it is ADORABLE.
My goal with this pattern was to make something that works really well for bed size quilts. You can always make a pattern bigger, but some quilts just look better as smaller quilts. This is one where bigger is better.
I also wanted to make a pattern that is beginner friendly, but that doesn't look like a beginner pattern. The blocks are 14" finished so they are also quick.
For the binding, I did my usual big stitch method. My daughter is going to be using this quilt on her bed and I love how the Perle cotton holds up to repeated washing.
The paper version of the pattern is printed into a little booklet with lots of full color images and thorough instructions.
So pretty and fresh!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great pattern! I love the clean lines of squares. You chose the perfect fabric, of course, and it looks fantastic on the bed. I didn't know that perle cotton holds up through many washings. Thanks for that info. I rarely use it but I have lots, so maybe it's time to give it another chance. I do love big stitches!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The Perle cotton has held up really well for me. My kids tend to be a little hard on quilts (lots of yanking on them, spilling on them, etc.) and the big stitches have held up well to their torment!
