do good stitches update

I spent the last couple of days finishing up our November quilt so that I can get it donated this week.  I really enjoyed making this pattern (it is called Simply Woven from Moda Bake Shop) and seeing this quilt is actually what inspired me to want to make a quilt for Moda myself.  The pattern is pretty simple (as long as you read the directions very closely!) and it was a lot of fun to make.  I can definitely see myself making this again.

For the backing I used this DS Quilts fabric which I got for $3 a yard a Joann's!  I think it works nicely with the quilt and I am loving plaids lately so of course I bought the rest of the bolt :)

I also finished up my January do Good Stitches blocks today.  Caitlin had asked us to make 1 or 2 Arkansas Traveler blocks using this tutorial  with this photo as our color inspiration.  The color combination is very pretty, I think that the finished quilt is going to be gorgeous!

  1. Beautiful quilt! I love the backing and the way you quilted it. (And I wish my Joanns had that plaid fabric for $3/yard!) And your quilt blocks are so pretty. I enjoying putting this block together and am going to try to get a second block made this weekend.

  2. Love those Arkansas Traveler blocks! : )

  3. Oh how I wish I could find $3 fabric!!!

The November quilt looks amazing. You did a great job on the finishing.

    Lovely bee blocks too.

  4. Beautiful quilt and blocks! And I LOVE the backing fabric!!

  5. Love your quilt! I am putting borders on the September quilt and sending it off to be quilted.

DS fabric for $3 a yard??? I'm heading to my Joann's today!

  6. Love the blocks and the quilt - great find for the backing!

  7. The quilt turned out so well!! It looks great!

  8. It looks fabulous. I've been collecting all the DS clearance at Joann's, and I never saw that print. I have quite a mountain, but I am still amazed when I see a print that I didn't find.
