My daughter is very particular about clothes and always picks her own outfits. She has been excited to choose her Valenetine's outfit and wanted me to take a photo of her this morning before school. You might think that this outfit would be cold for Valentine's day except it is supposed to be 80 DEGREES TODAY!
I am moving along with my Farmer's Wife blocks. Since my goal is to make 10 blocks per month and making all 10 at once last month was a little too much, I though I'd try doing them in batches of 5. Five blocks was much more manageable. I just cut the pieces for all 5 blocks and then chain pieced them together.
These are turning out to be pretty fun and I am not hating the templates nearly as much as I anticipated. It is a very messy project and there are lots of little pieces of fabric and lots of big piles of fabric all over the place. But I guess that's not really much different than how things normally are around here :)
Whenever my husband is out of town I get a TON of sewing done--basically all of my free time in the evening every night, haha. Your daughter looks so cute! What a great dress. Your blocks look great, I especially love the fussy cut bottom left one!
ReplyDeleteI was just telling my husband that I wanted to watch that movie this weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are so pretty! I think I've already given up on my Farmer's Wife. Again! :)
ReplyDeleteHugely envious of 80 degrees. Hugely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pic of the girly, what a sense of style! Happy valentines day, when the hunter travels, I get enormous amounts done ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your color pairings! the templates are definitely aggravating I have no less than three times pulled out my books and put it up after searching for the right template pieces.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! Valentines Day is one of those things that I know my kids miss out on with homeschooling. I always loved that day at school!
ReplyDeleteYour Farmer's wife blocks are looking lovely! I'm usually cutting one out at a time as I'm hand piecing and it gets a little much when I see I have 35 pieces to cut out for 1 block! But still, it's great when all those little pieces come together to make a fabulous block :)
ReplyDeleteI love that movie! My husband and I saw it last fall at the Savannah Film Festival. It makes you appreciate an ordinary, wonderful life. Also, I pretty much love Rachel McAdams in anything.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is just too darn cute, and your Farmers Wife blocks look awesome!
