After having issues with the template download, I have moved the tutorial and the template and added them to my shop as a free tutorial. You can find them both here. This PDF contains the original photos and info from the 2014 blog post, along with the addition of fabric requirements and typo corrections.
I am excited to share this tutorial with you today. This quilt is pretty quick to put together and is a great introduction to curves since these are pretty easy. You can read more about the quilt in my original post here.
If you have any questions or if you make your own, I would love to hear from you!

Is the thread on the top stitching all one color? If so, which color? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. I made one for one of my first two grandbabies (twins!). I am wondering the same thing about the quilting thread colors. Is it all one color or several separate colors? Which color(s)? Thank you so much.
DeleteI made this in a 56 by 76 inch size for my nieces wedding. She is a marine biologist and loved it. Thank you for your great idea and tutorial. I had never pieced curves before and it was fun. My son enlarged the measurements, laid the pieces out on computer fabric...and made me templates. Thank you mechanical engineer son.

ReplyDeleteHi Erica, I only discovered your blog now and hope you don't mind me asking about the deep blue sea quilt tutorial. I have a curve master for my sewing machine - wouldn't it be possible to sew those curves with it ? Thank you fo your advice and kind regards and compliments for this most beautiful peace of art.

What a wonderful quilt! I have been lolooking for something blue for a baby boy...seems there are so few around. My little Colton will have something very unique! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm struggling to make this a Twin size. Maybe because it is late at night. Anyone done it as Twin???
ReplyDeletei would love to know how to make it a bit bigger also!
DeleteYou could definitely increase the size, but would need lots more colors to make a twin size quilt.
DeleteI just finished the top for your wonderful quilt pattern!! It went so quick! Any suggestions as to what color(s) to quilt it in? I think I might try to match each row 🤷🏼♀️
ReplyDeleteYou could match each row. On my quilt, I used navy for the darkest section and then a medium gray for the others.
