I did want to mix up the colors a little bit and used a few prints from Ann Kelle's Beatbox collection plus a few Kona Cotton colors. My kids are already fighting over the pillow so I may need to make another one.
The pattern was pretty easy to follow and making piping was just as fun as I remembered (not fun, but worth it). I stuffed mine really full since I know it will be used and abused by my kids so mine is a little more pillowy than the image in the book. But it is very soft and comfortable and is currently making its home in my daughter's reading corner in her room.
Despite my cushion being a little lumpy, I am really pleased with how it turned out. As much as I love making quilts and being able to share those with my family, it is fun to do something a little different.
And wouldn't you like to check out Quilted Living for yourself? The Fat Quarter Shop provided me with a copy of the book to share with one of you.
