Winged Twin Quilt

A few weeks ago I got an email asking if I could make a twin size quilt similar to my Winged Baby Quilt.  I'm not sure if it was the best idea to take on a large commission project when I was early in the first trimester and needing 14 hours of sleep a day, but I really love working with these fabrics and colors and wanted to make another project with them.  Plus it gave me something with a deadline and helped me keep going.

I kept the color palate pretty similar, minus the purple, and added in some more gray.  The quilt is for a little girl's bed and I like how the colors are sweet and just a little spunky.

Notice the lush green grass in the background, it actually rained!
The back of the quilt is a Winged print and I love how pretty and creamy it is.

Even though I'm feeling quite a bit less tired now, trying to baste a quilt this large was quite the task so I think I will be sticking to smaller project until this baby shows up.

I still need to make a matching pillow sham before I mail this one out but I was so excited to share a finished project that I didn't want to wait :)

Finished size: 70" x 90"

I dread basting anything larger than a throw size. You've got guts to do a twin pregnant! LOL!

  15. I'm working on a Winged quilt right now, too. I never would have guessed that the two of us used the same line! I kept the deep eggplant and omitted the green. I love how you played up the yellow -- lovely!
