Tula Pink Cut Loose Quilt

FreeSpirit's website has been removed and these patterns are no longer available for download. They have assured me that a new website is underway and I will update the links as soon as the new downloads are available.

It FINALLY stopped raining long enough for me to get photos of this quilt today. I have been wanting to make another version of the Cut Loose (free!) pattern that I made for FreeSpirit, and the Spirit Animal fabric that came in the October Culcita Box was perfect.

I did make the quilt slightly smaller to be able to make the quilt using Fat Quarters - mine finished up at 51" x 68."

The background fabric is FreeSpirit Sand Dune and it is one of my favorite solids. It is similar to Kona Ash, but it a very slight pink hue to it.  So pretty.

The pattern is fairly quick and easy. I quilted it with an "organic crosshatch" - randomly spaced diagonal lines. It gives it a nice texture and echoes the design of the quilt.

My favorite part of the quilt is actually the backing/binding combo.  This backing fabric is also from Spirit Animal and it is SO PRETTY and I love how it looks with the turquoise solid.

I did my normal big stitch binding. This quilt is now available in my Etsy Shop and it would make a great Christmas present . . . hint hint.

Finished size: 51" x 68"
Fabric: Spirit Animal from Tula Pink in the October Culcita Box
Pattern: Cut Loose

    1. How exciting! I could have made the size in the pattern with FQs, the problem was that I only had 12 FQs.

  4. Thank you bunches, Erica, for letting me know I am good with the Washington Depot fat quarter bundle. Your smaller quilt is really cute, and I do like it. This is a great idea for a crib quilt. I would have typed all of this yesterday but my nails were WET hahaha 😆
