Recently I have been thinking that I would like to make some patterns that have 2 qualities:
1. They are very beginner friendly - this could be your first quilt ever and you would be OK
2. They work well with scraps
This is the first in a series of Super Simple, Beginner Friendly Patterns and it is called the Modern Postage Stamp Quilt. There are detailed instructions, lots of diagrams, and tips throughout the pattern.
Is this your first ever quilt? This is the pattern for you. Do you have a lot of 2.5" square scraps waiting to be used? This is the pattern for you. Are you just looking for a fun project? This is still the pattern for you.
I also wanted to do another thing a little different for this pattern: there is a paper version. To be honest, figuring out how to make the paper pattern thing happen was pretty crazy, but I figured it out.
The pattern has instructions for making two sizes:
Baby Quilt - 38" x 46"
Lap Quilt - 54" x 62"
I had some wonderful pattern testers for this quilt and I am excited to share their finished quilts today.
Miranda made the baby size quilt.
Carol made the lap size quilt. Look at that dog!
Cathy made the lap size quilt and added a border around the edge of the quilt.
This pattern is now available, either as PDF or as a paper pattern, in my brand new shop. Head over and pick one up!
