I have a
new pattern to introduce to you today and it is actually the first of 3 patterns that I will be sharing over the next 3 weeks. All of the patterns are available now (and are all 20% off) but I wanted to give each quilt it's own time to shine so I will be introducing them one at a time.
This is
The Katie Quilt. For the last little while I have been interested in trying to make some quilts that are made with a limited number of fabrics. Even though I love a good scrappy quilt, I also like the more subtle look of a project that is a little bit less all over the place. One thing that I really like about this pattern is that it can be simple with a very limited palate, or you can really go crazy. Haley's quilt in the pattern tester section below is a good example of this and I will be sharing progress on my own zany version of this pattern on
Instagram this week.
To help you plan your own version of The Katie Quilt, you can download
coloring pages for each size here.
The pattern includes 3 sizes:
Baby: 38" x 48"
Lap: 58" x 68"
Twin: 68" x 88"
The skill level is experienced beginner. If you can make flying geese, you can make this quilt. If you can't make flying geese, this is a good place to start ;)
The pattern is available as a
PDF or as a
paper pattern.
The fabrics in my quilt are from Firelight by Cotton + Steel - I LOVE the muted colors from the collection. Just wait until you see the backing fabric.
Yep, it's pretty amazing. I love those roses!
I could not have made this pattern without my pattern testers. It is so nice to see the way they envision the quilt and they were all so helpful in catching little typos and errors in the pattern.

ReplyDeleteFabulous! Took me forever to see how the stars emerged!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I had fun designing this one!
DeleteI just wanted to take a minute to let you know how much I appreciate all the freebies on your site!! I've been collecting the giant blocks this year (while working on a dozen other quilts, or so it seems) and will definitely be making up some of them soon. I know how long it takes to try to write up directions for blocks, so wanted you to know that it's very much appreciated. Thanks!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to let me know. It means so much to know that they are appreciated!
DeleteWow, they all look so different! What a great pattern!
ReplyDeleteWow, this pattern is amazing! Love all the different versions the testers made. Looking forward to seeing your other two patterns.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm excited to share them ;)
