The Ruth Quilt (The Muted Version)

I have really been feeling muted colors lately - I don't know if this is because these colors feel a little more wintery to me or because staying home all of the time is getting really depressing, but I haven't been feeling like bright colors for the past little bit.

When I was playing around with options to make a second version of my new Ruth Quilt Pattern, I was drawn toward lots of the muted fabrics in my stash. One of the things that I like about this pattern is how well it uses up random fabrics that I have had in my stash for way too long - especially smaller cuts of fabric from leftover FQers.

After posting a photo of this quilt top on Instagram, I had some requests for a full list of the fabrics I used. Some of these fabrics are not available anymore, but I will link to them if I can find them in stock.

Ruby Star Society - Grid (I'm not sure the name of the color)
Erin Michael - Lush Uptown Woodgrain
Lecien - Dots
Sharon Holland - Gossamer
Several other Teagan White prints - I couldn't find the names and they don't seem to be available
A couple of other Art Gallery prints

That is most of them - sorry that isn't more helpful! Not all of the prints still have the part of the selvage with the fabric info.

A note on buying fabric for your stash - notice that most of these fabrics use a single color or a very limited range of colors. For me, this is the best type of fabric to have in my stash. Most of what I buy are "basics" from different manufacturers or prints from fabric collections that have limited colors.

The backing fabric is another Teagan White print - can you tell I'm a fan? I actually bought this fabric to make curtains for the guest room in our last house (obviously that never happened) and I bought 9 yards of it so more than enough to back a couple of quilts.

This pattern is going to be a go-to fabric for stashbusting so expect to see more Ruth Quilts in the future! If you would like to make your own version of this pattern, you can pick up a copy in the shop.
