A Baby Quilt for a Friend

It seems like it is getting more and more unusual for my friends to have new babies - I'm not as young as I used to be! Recently I had a friend who was expecting a new baby boy and I decided it was a great opportunity to test out a new pattern I was working on.

This pattern won't be out for a couple of months, but I wanted to go ahead and blog about it before it got forgotten. This quilt was made with primarily primary colors pulled from my stash to coordinate with the backing fabric. I had a feeling that this friend would prefer a more traditional color scheme and I wanted to worked with what I have - and I have a LOT of backings for baby quilts.

I am working on making more baby quilts, whether or not I have a recipient in mind, because I love them so much - but it is nice to actually see one in use by a friend's new baby boy!
