The Violet Quilt in Flight Path

I'm always happy for reason to make another version of the Violet Quilt Pattern, and the new Flight Path collection by Jessica Swift was just the excuse I needed.

This collection has some prints that I really wanted to highlight and it uses a range of colors and values - both of these qualities made the Violet Quilt a good candidate. Since I rarely sew with red, I decided to try to try to highlight it in this project and I am so pleased with how it turned out! Maybe I actually do like the color red.

The rainbow print is my favorite in the collection and I LOVE that there is a flannel version of the print as well. Spoiler alert: I used it for the backing fabric.

Not all flannels are created equal, but this is the third quilt that I have made recently using Art Gallery's new flannels (see the others here and here) and I am impressed. They are soft and thick and the prints are gorgeous.

If you would like to make your own version of the Violet Quilt, you can pick up a copy in the shop. Flight Path should start showing up in shops this month.
