A while back, I made this Hazel Quilt using Garden of Opulence by Bari J for Art Gallery Fabrics for their lookbook and then I forgot to share it!
This is one of my favorite patterns to make and this is the first time I have made the quilt using a dark background, so that was a fun change.
My favorite things about this pattern are that it is fat quarter friendly (yay!) and it looks complicated and isn't (yay again!).
The backing fabric is my favorite print from the collection — I love a good bird print.
For the background fabric, I used this print and I am going to be totally honest here: I wish I had used a solid. This print has quite a bit of printed texture on it and my walking foot did not like sewing over it. If I were going to make it again, I would just use Pure Solids in Nocturne.
