It looks a little bit crazy, but it is actually a pretty simple paper pieced block that creates some fun patterns when you put the blocks together. I came up with the pattern below and Cloud9 has some fun options in their blog post.
I also submitted a version of the block in a second colorway. You can find out more details about the block and download the pattern on the Cloud9 blog.
Cloud9 sent me a Cirrus Solids bundle and the fabrics are so gorgeous. I haven't had a chance to sew with them yet, but I am definitely looking forward to it.
And they are still looking for Block of the Month submissions. If you are interested you can find out more here.
you have such a great eye for color. Love this design
ReplyDeleteAwesome design and fabaric combo!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's so neat what that block can do! I would never have guessed until you showed us. Pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun block, Erica! I just got some Cirrus for my next quilt, so hopefully I'll have leftovers to give this a try!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great masterpiece! The eyes sure do move. I had eye (both) surgery almost a year ago and now I have having severe eye pain in one of them intermittently. I'm glad it doesn't seem to be related to eye movement. I was reading on the blog paper piecing (which I adore) and in my head I was thinking EPP (which I really haven't given a fair chance yet). Thanks for the copy of the pattern, too. Now, one more thing for my to-do list. I like each color combo you selected.
ReplyDeleteYou have design a very unique block. I love how it is so versatile in a quilt.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! So creative and talented. It's gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I love love LOvE the pillows ! That is a perfect gift for the Gboys! Such awesome sauce going on in this blog. Hop! Thank you!
