I really, really love these prints. They colors are bright and perfect for babies. This quilt used less than half of my 1/4 yard bundle and I am glad to have more left for future projects.
There are several ways to make flying geese, but my favorite is this ruler. It is easy, accurate, and doesn't produce waste. Plus the ruler tells you how wide to cut your fabric strips and what your finished flying geese size will be. If you have been afraid of flying geese I definitely recommend this ruler.
The backing and border are one of my favorite Lotus Pond prints and the binding is Kona Mediterranean.
Since I didn't make this for a particular purpose and I am quickly running out of quilt storage, I have listed this one in my Etsy shop.
Finished size: 42" x 50"
Lotus Pond is still available:

ReplyDeleteErica, this is darling! I'm such a huge fan of Lotus Pond too. I have a little stack that I'm still saving for something special... :)
ReplyDeleteI love this collection too. Your geese turned into such cute zigzag squares. It's nice when just jumping in yields such a fun, original result!

ReplyDelete"I feel so incredibly lucky to have snatched up this gorgeous little artisan quilt- it is even more wonderful in person than in the pictures. The stitching is first-rate and the colors just sing. Incredibly quick shipping, too. It was intended for a gift but I'm having a serious case of second thoughts. Thank you so much, Erica!"
super cute! i love not only the way the diamonds are offset but the borders on two edges, too. nice work on the flying geese, but maybe QSTs would have been easier? maybe just for me or maybe not! whatever. it turned out great!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! I'll have to check out that ruler. I like flying geese, and anything to make it easier to make them will help.
