Gender Neutral Starry Baby Quilt

One of my cousins is expecting a baby next month is waiting to find out whether she is having a boy or a girl. She wasn't using any particular colors for her nursery and so I didn't have a lot of direction.

I have A LOT of cousins so I have been making a quilt for each of them when they have their first babies. Several of the quilts were made before I started this blog, but you can see the others here, here, here, here, and here.

I decided to make an on-point star quilt using mint, navy, teal, and gray. The color inspiration actually came from the backing fabric. It is one of the Cozy prints from Cotton + Steel and I LOVE it!  It's adorable!

I mailed the quilt to my mom so she could take it to the shower and, of course, it was delayed and didn't make it on time.

I bound the quilt with the Cotton + Steel Basics sprinkle print and hand stitched the binding with Perle cotton.

Finished Size: 34" x 42"

After I took these photos, I loaded them onto my computer and found this scary one of my son.  That crazy kid!

  1. Everything about this quilt is adorable! The backing fabric is perfect and a great way to choose your color palette! Also, your hand stitching on the binding is a perfect way to show it all off. This will be treasured for years to come! Lucky baby!
