The Violet Quilt - A New Pattern

I hope you have some fat quarters that are waiting for just the perfect pattern, because I have one for you! This is The Violet Quilt - it is fat quarter friendly and so much fun to make and it is now available (on sale!) in my shop.

The best part? It works with just about any fabric combination. The pattern includes instructions for the version pictured here as well as the rainbow version I shared last week.

There are three sizes included (baby, lap, and twin) and the pattern is available as both a PDF and a paper pattern.

One of my goals for this pattern was to write something that can feel like a new pattern every time you make it. I am already working on my third version and each time has felt like a totally different project.

The pattern is not difficult, the way it is pieced is just a little non-traditional and I think that helps make the process more fun. There is a ton of room for creativity and to make it your own, or the pattern has exact instructions for making the rainbow version (right down to the names of the fabrics that I used in my quilt).

I will share a little more about my quilt later this week - today I want to share my wonderful pattern testers' quilts with you. I value these wonderful women so much. They are not afraid to give it to me straight, and I am SO APPRECIATIVE of their constructive criticism because it helps make the pattern more clear and error-free.

It is so much fun to see what they each do with their quilt because it helps show how versatile the pattern can be. Check out these gorgeous quilts!

  1. Erica, I REALLY like this quilt. It looks so nice. I like the white back ground the best, but everyone's shares of your pattern look so so nice. Great fabrics and wonderful inspiration

  2. I love the pattern, and the diversity. What line did you use for the sample you sent out in the blog? Did you use a fat quarter bundle? Love the fabric. Thanks

    1. I used Anna Maria Horner fabrics, mostly from her Dowry collection. I actually made a post today with the details: http://www.kitchentablequilting.com/2019/05/my-violet-quilt.html
