Meet The Cleo Quilt Pattern. Isn't it fun? This is a stash-busting, anything goes type of pattern - if it's in your stash, it will work in this quilt. It can be made from leftover scraps or fat quarters. It can be very neutral or vivid and bright. It can be rainbow or monochrome. It can be anything you want!
Here are a few things I love about the pattern:
- The pattern has directions for baby, lap, and twin sizes and is available as a paper or PDF pattern.
- The skill level is experienced beginner and there are instructions for a scrappy version (pictured here) or a rainbow version. The rainbow version is great because it works with leftovers and scraps too.
- There is flexibility in choosing which cut of fabric you use in your quilt - you could use a really broad range of small cuts or a narrow range of larger cuts. Use
- The pattern looks harder than it is (which is my favorite kind of pattern).
- It looks totally different based on your fabric selection.
For the cover quilt I used leftover fat quarter pieces from previous projects. Some of these have been in my stash since I very first started quilting and it was so satisfying to use them in a project. Since I didn't want to go too crazy with the colors (I saved that for the rainbow version that I will be sharing soon) I mixed in a good dose of neutrals.
The backing is an older Cotton + Steel print that I just love. The great thing about scrappy quilts is that just about any backing will work with them. This is one I have tried to use on other projects in the past, but it was never quite right. It was perfect for this scrap quilt.
The Cleo Quilt is on sale in the shop for the rest of the week. I will be sharing my pattern testers' quilts in a few days and they are just stunning so keep an eye out for them!
Yes, you will need to pay attention to your popcorn if you are setting it up using the flat cooking method, but you will save yourself a lot of counter space or cabinet if you choose the old method. or? Use the microwave in a bag. Unless you choose to give up your microwave too ...
