I particularly love the rainbow version of the pattern - it does take a little time and planning to get your blocks figured out, but it makes a really fun, colorful quilt.
My stash is very blue-heavy so I ended up with a big blue section, but I wrote the pattern so that you can use more of whichever color dominates your stash. If you check back to my pattern testers' quilts, you can see that the rainbow versions vary in color distribution.
I have had a tricky time getting photos of this quilt (and the 3 other finished quilts I have waiting to be photographed!) because it has been raining constantly for the past little while. The rain is supposed to continue for at least the next couple weeks, so I took advantage of a few minutes when it was only lightly sprinkling to get this photos. Hopefully I can photograph the other quilts soon!
The backing fabric for this quilt is a flannel flat sheet that I picked up from Target a while back. It is so nice not to have to piece the backing and this fabric is super soft. I am going to pick up a few cute sheet sets for future quilts. You can use both the flat and fitted sheet (just trim off the pocket parts around the edges) so it is a very cost effective way to back a quilt.

Pretty quilt and I love your rainbow version!! This would be a great quilt to make from your scraps bu just making blocks for it as you are making other quilts!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. It reminds me a little of the Postcards from Sweden quilt. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by quilty possibilities right now, but I think your pattern is a distinct possibility.
