So instead of releasing the tutorial later this year, I am releasing it now. Let me introduce you to Plaid-ish 2.
I had a few goals with this quilt:
- A project that used the scraps that I actually have in my stash. The original plaid-ish decimated the darkest valued scraps that I had, so I wanted to go minimal with the darker scraps.
- I have tons of leftover binding strips sitting around so I wanted something to use those up.
- Like the original Plaid-ish, I wanted to do a tutorial that was simple enough to fit on three pages. Also like the original, this quilt is a very generous throw size (69" x 86"), but the tutorial makes it easy to adjust quilt size.
I backed mine in 90" wide minky, just like the original Plaid-ish quilt, and it was just barely big enough but I made it work.
This quilt was almost too tall for my husband to hold it up for photos, which means my family will think it is the perfect size for snuggling on the couch.
I hope you enjoy this tutorial - if you make your own version of the quilt, please use the hashtag #plaidishquilt2 and tag @kitchentablequilting on Instagram so I can see it!
p.s. Don't forget that the Tessa QAL starts on Monday! Check out this post for all of the details and use code QAL to get 20% off the pattern through Monday May 18th.
