Thank you so much for your excitement about the Judy Quilt Pattern! I thought I would share a little bit more about the quilt on the cover of the pattern.
When I heard that Heather was releasing a new collection with Figo Fabrics called True Kisses, I reached out to them to see if I could work with the fabric and they said yes! Wonderful. This collection won't be available until March 2021, so you have a while to get excited for it, but there is a lot to be excited about.
The colors in the collection are brilliant and the mix of different types of prints gives this collection so much depth. There are gorgeous large scale florals, but also several prints that could work as basics to mix and match with other collections (I particularly love the plus and the stripe prints). There is a great balance between busier and more subdued prints that make this collection really easy to work with.
Bonus points for Figo - they are offering 2 of the prints as 108" wide backing fabrics. I wish more fabric manufacturers would do this! I would buy them!
I didn't actually use one of the wide backing fabrics for my quilt because they weren't available when I made my quilt. Instead, I used my favorite floral from the collection.
It is so perfect. I am not a garment sewer, but it would make such a beautiful skirt or dress. I might have to venture out of my comfort zone to make one.
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this collection. If you haven't sewn with a Figo Fabrics collection in the past, I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The fabric was very soft but also on the thinner side (that is my preference because I feel like it makes it easier to get seams to match) and I really enjoyed sewing with it.
Plus, it worked perfectly with the Judy Quilt Pattern. I put together a little PDF fabric guide if you would like to make a quilt exactly like mine - you can download it here.
And don't forget to pick up a copy of the Judy Quilt Pattern in the shop!
