I made a baby quilt! They happen rarely lately, but they are still my favorite. One of my friends is expecting a baby boy and I needed a quick project, so I put this together last weekend.
My original plan had been to use various shades of blue. When I was looking through my backing stash to see if I had a good blue option, I found this super sweet print (at the bottom of the stack in the photo below) and decided to use it as color inspiration.
The fabric is light blue with dark green, blue, orange, and tan birds. I particularly loved the dark green - this is my favorite shade of green and it is so difficult to find fabrics in this color.
The fabric placement for this quilt was dependent on how much of each print I had in my stash - I was working with leftover fat quarters for some of the prints so I had to plan around that. I thought it would be fun to put the deer prints in the corners.
As always happens when I make a baby quilt, I now want to make more baby quilts.
If you would like to make your own baby size version of the Taylor Quilt Pattern, you can pick up a copy in my shop.
