The Virginia Quilt Pattern - Adorn Version

I don't know about you, but sometimes when I make a quilt, I have some leftovers. Don't get me wrong - I love these leftover pieces of fabric and I love looking at them on my shelf, but I should probably put them to some good use.

One thing that I really like about the Virginia Quilt Pattern is that it is fat quarter friendly, but it also includes instructions for a "more variety," scrappy version that is perfect for all of those leftovers.

For this version of the quilt, I used the remaining Adorn fabric from this quilt + some leftover solids and basics from previous projects to make a fun, scrappy looking quilt.

This version uses some blacks and some citron-y yellows like the First Light version, but is a little funkier and a lot of fun.

I really like that the pattern lets you see your fabric - we aren't cutting it all into tiny pieces, we are displaying the fabric so we can enjoy it in quilt form.

For the backing, I splurged and bought yardage of my favorite print from the collection. I know, I was supposed to be using up fabric from my stash, not buying new stuff. I couldn't help myself!

The binding is my go-to-entirely-too-often black solid and I love how it frames the quilt.
