I'm feeling very proud of myself because not only did I finish a Christmas quilt, but I also photographed AND am posting about it before Christmas. Miracles do happen!
I do not make many holiday quilts because I would rather have quilts that can be used year round, but I made an exception for this quilt. The fabrics are Holiday Classics from Rifle Paper Co. and the prints feel so timeless I just had to make something with them.
This was one of the quilts I made as part of the Penny QAL (still need to trim the second one, it will be a 2022 finish!). The prints work well in this pattern because the fabric pieces are large enough that you can enjoy the prints and because the pattern works will with a mix of lighter and darker prints.
This collection has a TON of prints - more than I needed for this quilt - and I used the other FQers + the scraps from this project to make this quilt. If you are wanting to get your hands on the collection, it is getting harder to find in stock! I'm thinking of picking up some yardage to save for next year.
For the backing, I used one of the prints from the collection that had lots of metallic. I love the metallics in the collection and really wanted to feature that on the back. The binding is a Pure Elements solid called Hunter Fields. It's a really nice, solid dark green that doesn't lean green or blue. It's just right.
