Quilt Ideas - Stay Gold

Way back in the middle of 2021, I made the cover version for the Penny Quilt pattern using Stay Gold by Melody Miller for Ruby Star Society. Due to some delays, the fabric collection is finally available in shops so I thought I would do some mockups using the collection.

The Penny Quilt Pattern - Kitchen Table Quilting

I absolutely adore these prints so this was a ton of fun! She does such a great job of mixing colors, scale, and value to create a really balanced collection that is easy to use in quilts. Plus the fabrics are just so pretty!

This one uses the panel from the collection - it's so good!

Which is your favorite? I am pretty partial to the one I actually made, but I think my second favorite is the Virginia Quilt - it's such a riot of color!

  1. Oooooh! So lovely!! Melody is my favorite fabric designer so this post is absolute eye candy!! I love it. I agree with you on a first choice quilt with the Penny, but it’s allllmost tied with the Judy mock-up. As a long-time Melody fan, that panel is just to die for!!

    1. She is definitely one of my favorite designers too and I agree about the panel - I am trying to convince myself that I don't need it but I think that I'm going to have to get it!

  2. I need more information about that Judy Quilt mock-up. It is divine and I think I need to make it!

    1. I really want to make it too - it is pretty close to how the pattern is written but it uses squares from the panel for the center of the blocks.
