The Freya Quilt in Lady Bird

Yay, I finally get to share this finished quilt with you! Jelly Rolls aren't a precut that I have usually stocked up on and I knew that I wanted to make a second version of the Freya Quilt pattern using a jelly roll, so it was an excellent excuse to pick up one in the Lady Bird collection.

If you read my blog or follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I am a huge fan of this collection (click here to read more about that).

I love that it is a little bit more traditional that what I normally sew with, but that it is so versatile. It worked so well in every pattern that I mocked it up in and I fell in love with the florals.

When I realized that I could make a rainbow version of the Freya Quilt using the collection, I was extra on board - it makes such a great rainbow!

The background fabric is a soft white (don't remember which shade exactly, sorry!). I would have loved to use Moda Bella in Feather which is the Moda recommended solid, but I am trying to use what I have on hand and I think just about any white or soft white would work with the collection.

Speaking of using what I have on hand - the backing fabric is a 108" wide Architextures print that I have had in my stash forever. The gray is on the warm side and looked really nice with the quilt (even though I would have loved to back the quilt with this pretty floral).

The binding is another pull from my stash - it's Kona Ice Peach and it worked well with the collection (similar Moda Bella recommended colors would be Cantaloupe or Peach).

If you would like to make your own version of the Freya Quilt, you can pick up a copy in the shop. Lady Bird is still widely available and would be a great one to stash away if you don't have plans for it.
