When I posted a photo of this jelly roll on Instagram a few weeks ago, a few of you noticed that this collection contains a whole lot of my favorite color! Purple is a little tricky to find in fabrics and Florida Volume 2 by Sarah Watts does it so well. It was the perfect collection for the cover of the Freya Quilt pattern.
This is such a fun collection with a great mix of colors, lots of changes in scale, and several prints that will work really well as basics (particularly the sand prints - they are amazing!).
The background fabric is one of my favorite basics - Speckled in Gold. It's just a little bit more interesting and (let's be honest) it is very kid friendly because those little spills won't be so noticeable. Since I still have young kids, that's something I'm always considering!
The backing fabric is (surprise!) purple! I love the movement of this print and it is gorgeous as a backing fabric. The binding fabric is one of the sand prints - I will definitely be stocking up on this print in several colors for future quilt bindings.
Yep, there is me with the quilt wearing my quilting uniform (super comfy sweats).
And here is a little sneak peek at the next version of the Freya Quilt that I will be sharing tomorrow - it is a collection that I have been wanting to work with for a long time and I am so glad I finally made it happen!
If you would like to make your own version of the Freya Quilt pattern, you can pick up a copy in the shop! Florida Volume 2 should start showing up in shops next month.
