Since I am need of restocking some essentials in my sewing room (mostly practical things like thread, but I'm always looking for a good deal on fabric too!) I have been keeping my eye out for sales and good deals.
Here are a few that I saw today:
- Mettler thread - I usually use Aurifil, but Mettler is very high quality and cooperates better with some machines than other brands. If Aurifil hasn't worked for you, it's worth giving it a try - especially on sale.
- Whatnot charm pack - I think this is the perfect collection and precut to pick up if you are looking to teach a kid to sew (or just want to make a simple patchwork quilt yourself). The charm pack is only $5.71. This sale is today only (Saturday) but FQS has a daily flash sale on precuts that is worth checking out.
- Purl Layer Cake by Sarah Watts for Ruby Star Society - This is only $22.95 for a full layer cake! That is a steal of a deal.
- Rifle Paper CO. English Garden Stripes for $8.76/yard - This would make a great binding fabric!
- First Light Prints for less than $8/yd - there a couple of shops having sales with great deals on this collection, which is one of my recent favorites. Check out this one and this one in particular.
- Minky fabrics on sale at Fabric Shack - This is one of my favorite fabric shops. They have several different Michael Miller and Shannon Fabric milky prints on sale right now.
- Open Heart Layer Cake - Stash Fabrics has this layer cake on sale right now for only $22, which is half price. It's a beauty! Maureen Cracknell is one of my favorite designers.
I hope those are helpful to you! One of my goals is to make quilting accessible to as many people as possible, both by sharing that it really isn't that hard AND that it isn't prohibitively expensive. While it isn't the cheapest hobby, it is a very worthwhile one and I'm glad you are all here enjoying it with me!
