Way back in the fall of 2021, I hosted a Quiltalong for the Penny Quilt Pattern. During the QAL, I made 2 different versions of the quilt and finished one of them up right away.
But the other quilt top has been hanging out in my sewing room ever since. I know, that is pretty unusual for me! The quilt just kept getting moved down the priorities list + it was the holidays so it took me a few months to get the quilt finished up.
Then Oregon has been experiencing one of the wettest/grayest springs on record so quilt photos were tricky, but I finally have a finished quilt to share with you. This quilt top was made almost entirely from fabrics in my stash.
The color inspiration came from the backing fabric, which is a really pretty Bonnie Christine print. There is green in the quilt, which is (by far!) the weakest part of my stash so I did pick up a couple of green prints for the quilt.
The binding fabric is a really pretty pink-y/lavender. I normally like to use a darker color for the binding, but I liked how well this color worked with both the backing and the quilt top.
It feels good to finally have this one finished up! I had a couple of helpers with the quilt photos. . .
All of the info about the Penny Quiltalong can be found here. If you would like to make your own version of the Penny Quilt Pattern, you can pick up a copy of the pattern in my shop!
