This is a fun version of the Sadie Quilt Pattern to share because I used one of my favorite collections of all time — The Lovely Hunt by Lizzy House.
I had this collection sitting on my shelf for a long time before I finally felt like I had the right project for it. This quilt was on the cover of the original pattern.
While I loved how the quilt turned out, I didn't love the photos and really wish I had taken the time to re-take them. I take my own quilt photos and I am not a professional. Most of the time I can get decent photos as long as the lighting is good, but sometimes things just don't go well. The combination of the bright white fabric + the brightly colored fabrics + there not being quite enough light outside was not the best combination.
I just love so many of the prints in this collection and I love that they allowed me to make a rainbow-y quilt. The pattern gives a minimum number of fat quarters required to make the quilt and I used more than the minimum to make this quilt so I could get the rainbow effect. But that means that I still have leftovers of all of the FQers from the collection just waiting for the next perfect Lovely Hunt project.
The backing print is an older Lotta Jansdotter print from her Bella collection. I love it and have enough squirreled away to back another quilt someday.
It's been fun to revisit some older versions of this pattern! Tomorrow I will have some fun mockups to share with you.
If you would like to pick up a copy of the pattern, you know where to find it!
