See ya, 2016!

I know I'm not alone in this sentiment, but I am so glad to be done with 2016.  I have been planning to sit down and write a year-in-review post, but I just can't do it.  This past year has been a what-doesn't-kill-you-makes-you-stronger year, and while I may be stronger and it didn't kill me, I am tired and it's going to take me some time to recover.

During 2016 I made some stuff, and if you want to look back through the archives you can find most of the quilts here.

I also wrote some patterns and you can find them all here.

We moved from San Diego to Oregon and in the near future I will hopefully be sharing some photos of my new sewing room and possibly a few of the other rooms that I have been working on.

As always, I wouldn't be writing here if it wasn't for you. Thank you for your kind words and your support during the past year, you really buoyed me up during this crazy time.

I hope you all had a happy holiday season and I hope that 2017 is a better year for all of us!
This photo felt like an appropriate representation of the year.

  2. Amen ! I'm amazed at how many people are expressing the same feelings about the past year. I wrote about 2 things on my blog but there were so many more not said.
I have been reading your blog fora few years now and you seemed to accomplish so much in 2016 ! Be gentle on yourself.
Happy New year to you and your family.

  5. Every year is a blessing.
I adore all of your quilts and your patterns are always beautiful!

Yes, there were some rough and terrible things happening in the world this year. Those incidents were heart breaking.
I am grateful for all of the good things. I try to focus on that. Life is so full of drama.
    Your kiddies are wonderful

  6. Happy New Year to you & your family! I agree with you - 2016 WAS awful.
I'm glad to be in a new year, and looking forward to what comes with it. Hope you are enjoying Salem - I've lived here since early 2006 and really enjoy it. There are loads of activities for young families here, its a wonderful place to camp, go to the beach, go skiing, fishing, hiking, biking....its very much a 'family' town. Welcome! Deb

  7. We were laying in bed on NYE before midnite, and I muttered, "See ya, 2016. Don't let the door hit you on the way out." I thought Hubby was asleep but I heard, "Amen." from his side. Onward!

I love your picture, it says so much about family and life together.

  8. Goodness, I am just catching up on blogs and see that you made your move. Salem certainly welcomed you with the worst winter in years. I hope you have survived all the no school days. In my neck of the woods they are forecasting that we will finally warm up, with freezing rain to begin with, hit the high 40's and have flooding this week when all the snow melts. Just so you know we have not had this much cold in years. Don't let it scare you off. Spring and Summer will be great. I know I can hardly wait. I hope your hubby is settling into his new job well.

  9. Moving couldn't be more stressful and I hope you settle in quickly. Honestly it takes about a year before it feels like home. But hope it's much, much quicker for you. Best wishes for 2017!
