I'm excited to share this tutorial with you today. If you follow my blog you might have noticed that I have a fondness for quilts with a woven look to them (see here, here, and here); this block is a really quick, simple way to get the effect on a larger scale.
The construction of the blocks is done in (what I think is) the most beginner-friendly way and does not involve any partial seams. The instructions and the quilt suggestions are both available as a free download in my shop.
This is the 24" quilt idea - it makes a twin size quilt.
This is the 36" block quilt idea.
While you are stopping by my shop, don't forget to check out the PDF and paper patterns that I have available.
The links have not worked for either the July or August blocks on my computer. Thanks for the previous blocks. I am eager to try some of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I don't know why they don't work. I just tested them on two different computers and they are functioning at my house. In the future if you are having trouble, you can always go to shop.kitchentablequilting.com and look in the "Freebies" section.
DeleteErica, I like this pattern. I am going to try it out and make a cutie quilt for my grand baby.
ReplyDeletethank you for all of your free patterns. I just love your creativity and inspiration
So fun and you are so welcome!
DeleteYou have to know by now that I LOVE your giant blocks. I am developing an affinity for these woven quilts thanks to you. This one may be up next for my social sewing for Jaftex...Thank you so much for making these available. Your kind and generous heart is inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI am unable to download the August block. The links do not seem to be working. I really look forward to these blocks, as does the hospital that receives them. Please let e know if I am doing something wrong. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you are having trouble! If you just go to shop.kitchentablequilting.com and then go to the "Freebies" section, you can find the download. If that doesn't work just send me an email and I can send it to you that way.
DeleteI had a little difficulty downloading but it all came good in the end. I just love these large blocks and can see lots of uses for them. Will wait until I have 12 then decide what Im going to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your effort for us out here in quilting land
