But then a while ago, the people at Dutch Label Shop offered to send me some labels, and now I am sold. Labels only take a minute to sew onto the quilt and are actually pretty fun.
If you would like to order your own quilt labels, Dutch Label Shop has kindly offered a 15% off with coupon kitchentablequilting15. If you have any questions about making your labels, contact their customer service and they will help you along with the ordering process.
And if you made it this far into this blog post, I will be having a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale so make sure to check back next week!
Question: It looks like you sewed those labels to the back of the quilt after the quilting. Doesn't that stitching show on the front?
ReplyDeleteWhen I first tried adding a label, I added it to the backing fabric before quilting, but I discovered that I didn't like quilting over the label. If you look at the pictures you can see that I don't always place the label in a consistent location - that is because I choose a place where the stitches will be minimally noticeable on the front of the quilt. The label is small enough that the stitches aren't very noticeable at all and they haven't bothered me.
DeleteYour labels look great.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful. Now I really do want to get a few.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosemary! I don't put them on all of my quilts, but I do really like having them around when I want to add them.
DeleteCan you give the measurements of the labels you're showing? Do you use a label when the quilt is a gift for a friend or family member, and if you do, do you make it more personal? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat question! Mine are the 1" x 3" woven logo labels. Sometimes I will add a little embroidery to personalize a label, but if I don't have time I just add the label.
DeleteThe basic deduction given is exemplary.
