I was originally planning on updating my Alice Quilt pattern, but then I sketched this quilt up in EQ8 and decided it would make a great new, layer cake friendly pattern.
One of the things that I really like about Alison's fabrics is that they are so gorgeous together, but they are also fantastic as blenders to mix with other collections. This iteration of her Sunprint fabrics works so well mixed with other collections that I am not even a little bit sad that I have some scraps to add to my stash.
For the backing fabric I used Kona Pomegranate and did my normal big stitch binding.
Sunprint 2019 will be available very soon so watch out for it!
Finished Size: 59" x 79"

beautiful
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I agree, first off the quilt is wonderful! This is really such a lovely way to show off these sparkly brights! I love this fabric too. Hopefully you have some scraps to make something little and special
ReplyDeleteLove the bright squares and the layout.
ReplyDeleteJust saw you on IG and see you are asking for advice getting motivated to sew. For me, I like to do a simple project - pillowcases - so much fun and easy to finish several in an afternoon - or do string blocks - mindless sewing! Your patterns are phenomenal and your color choices are beautiful! Sometimes you need to take a step back away from quilts and go simple. Good luck!
