Quilt Ideas - Tula Pink Solids

When I was contemplating fabric collections for a Quilt Ideas post, I kept going back to solids. I decided to make some mockups using the Tula Pink solids because (1) I have used them several times (see here, here, and here) and they are soft and vibrant and wonderful and (2) they are so nicely curated that they are like a fabric collection on their own.

In fact, I enjoyed this so much that I got a little carried away and made a bunch. Plus I had previously used them for mockups when releasing new quilt patterns so I'm going to include those as well.

Quilt Ideas - Sweet 'n Spookier

When I saw that Art Gallery Fabrics had a new Spooky/Sweet line from this collection available, I thought "didn't I just make that Spooky 'n Sweeter quilt?" But alas, it was a year ago. The new collection is called Sweet 'n Spookier and it is just too cute.

For fun, I mocked up the Judy Quilt since that was the quilt I made with the Spooky 'n Sweeter collection, and then I added in some other mockups.

Quilt Ideas - Ombre Galaxy Metallic

Last week when I was putting together mockups using the Elena Quilt pattern, I really loved working with V and Co.'s Ombre Galaxy Metallic prints so I thought they deserved their own post.

I have enjoyed Vanessa's ombre lines for a while (see here, here, and here) - there is a reason why they keep making them! I particularly like this collection because of the number of blue/green/purple options so I focused on those in a couple of the mockups.

Quilt Ideas - Starry

You might have noticed (since I have used it several times in mockups of the past few months and once in an actual quilt) that I am a huge fan of Starry by Alexia Abegg for Ruby Star Society

I love it so much that I thought it deserved its own Quilt Ideas post. I am going to repost some of the older mockups for you here, but I also have a few new ones so this post is going to be extra long.

How to Make Any Pattern a Valentine's Quilt

You guys know that I am not generally a big fan of holiday-type quilts. I have made a few (see here, here, here, and here) and I have found that I would usually rather use a non-holiday themed pattern paired with holiday prints.

So this week instead of doing a Quilt Ideas post using a single collection, I am going to show you some non-holiday patterns mocked up in some Valentine's prints.

The Beatrice Quilt - The Mockups

I had a ton of fun putting together mockups of my new Beatrice Quilt Pattern - it is always fun to play with fabric. There are a mix of rainbow and non-rainbow, prints and solids, and modern and traditional shown here - it is always interesting to see how a quilt looks in different styles!

The Beatrice Quilt in Darlings - Kitchen Table Quilting
I tried to stick with collections that are currently available or will be soon - I will also list the precut that would be needed to make that version of the quilt as well as the Fabric A and C fabrics used. There are several here using Tula Pink solids/prints - this might be foreshadowing for what I am going to be working on soon!

The Beatrice Quilt - Darlings Version

A while back, I picked up a layer cake of Darlings by Ruby Star Society. I didn't have any particular plans for the fabric and I kind of forgot about it since I rarely use layer cakes and I wasn't interested in cutting the fabric up into little pieces.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I was wanting to make some different samples for the Beatrice Quilt Pattern and I started wondering if I had any layer cakes on hand . . . the Darlings layer cake was perfect!

The Beatrice Quilt - Rainbow Version

You guys know I love a rainbow quilt so I had to make a rainbow version of the Beatrice Quilt

The best thing about making a rainbow version of this quilt is that it works with fat quarters! No special instructions are required, just use a fat quarter of each color and then arrange them in rainbow order.

The Beatrice Quilt - Vessel Version

The Beatrice Quilt on the cover of the pattern uses a new collection by Alexia Abegg called Vessel. It is pretty certain that if I put the fabric on the cover of the pattern, I kinda love it and this collection is no exception.

If you follow Alexia on Instagram, you might have seen some of the beautiful pottery work that she does. It always amazes me to see artists work in different mediums - she is so talented! This collection is inspired by her pottery and uses a really range of beautiful, earthy tones and lots of versatile prints. It was a joy to work with.

Sincerely Yours - Quilt Ideas

It has been a little bit since I did one of these posts - the Penny QAL has taken over my life! -  but I saw Sincerely Yours by Sherri and Chelsi for Moda and it looked like the perfect collection for some mockups.

The Iris Quilt in Tula Pink - Kitchen Table Quilting

As a child of the 80s/early 90s, I love pink and purple together and these collection really leans into those color combinations. And it has the cutest heart prints.
